What is KREIS?

Transforming lives through education ensuring social justice

Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society

Our journey started in 1999 with the mission of providing excellence in
education rooted in equality and social justice. Established under the Social Welfare Department, the Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society (KREIS) is dedicated to establishing and managing co-educational residential schools across Karnataka for the socially and economically weaker sections of society.

Over the years, we have been educating more than million children across the state with all the facilities required for a comprehensive growth.
Currently operates 821 residential schools, serving 2.1 lakh children annually from SC, ST, and OBC communities, with more than 60% of the students being girls.
This year, we have expanded our mission by reserving 50% of our seats for children from special categories, including manual scavengers, ex-devadasis, orphans, children of HIV-positive parents, and semi-nomadic and nomadic communities.

Our commitment to transforming lives through education is demonstrated by over 96% pass rate in SSLC and PUC exams, with many students securing admissions to prestigious institutions like IIT and NIT, and excelling in national-level sports competitions. We are also proud to share that this year’s state 1st and 3rd toppers are from KREIS

Our Focus Areas

Quality Education

We ensure high academic standards, reflected in our impressive 96% pass rate in SSLC and PUC examinations. Our students’ achievements are a testament to their hard work and determination, supported by our dedicated teachers and staff.

Inclusive Growth
